FAQ’s

Do I need a licence?
You do not need to have a bike licence, as we are permitted by the Auto Cycle Union (ACU) to run on private land, although you do need to be a competent rider.

Do I need experience?
You must be able to ride a motorcycle confidently but do not need to have any off-road experience. The course is designed to take you from the very beginning and whatever your ability in other disciplines, everyone on the course will be a newcomer to flattrack.

What bikes will we be riding?
For the level 1 course you will be riding CRF 125’s or CRF 100’s for smaller, younger pupils. These bikes are perfect to begin your training, with just the right amount of power and weight, making them easy to handle.

What ages do you cater for?
Our youngest riders are about 10 years old and must be tall enough to handle a CRF 100. There is no upper age limit, however you must still have good eyesight (can be corrected) and be physically fit, as it is a very demanding sport.

Where do you run?
At a farm just outside Market Rasen, Lincs. If you have booked on a date you should have received confirmation, asking you to arrive for 10am at Moat Farm, Caenby Road, Glentham, Market Rasen, Lincs, LN8 2EE. Please do not turn up on the off-chance that we can fit you in, only pre-paid bookings will be accepted.

How long is the day?
We ask you to arrive for 10am, to complete the paperwork and get changed. Briefing will commence at 10.30am, followed by riding until lunchtime. We recommence after lunch, with the occasional break when needed and finish between 4 and 5 pm.

What about food and drinks
Tea and coffee is available from sign on in the morning and throughout the day, as are cold drinks and high energy foods such as flapjack, bananas etc. but please to bring your own pack up for lunch.

What do I need to bring on the day?
You will need to bring your own protective clothing –
full leathers offer the best protection but you may also use MX gear, kevlar jeans, gore-tex clothing etc., providing that they have elbow & knee pads and back protection.
You will also need boots – road, race, moto cross, our steel shoes will fit over whatever you generally ride in.
Helmet – full face or open face with goggles and gloves.

What do you provide?
We provide the steel shoes, (a generic type which fit over any boots), along with the flat track bikes, track and training in small groups offering a high ratio of instructors to pupils, with loads of track time. There will also be food and drink, please see above.

How do I pay?
There are different options.
You can book your place from the booking page and make a payment in full via paypal or a card payment (still through paypal, just scroll down on the paypal page until you get to card payment) and we will send you confirmation by email.
If you would prefer to split your payment, you can contact us and arrange to pay a £50pp deposit to secure your place, with the balance paid nearer the time. Payment options include bacs, paypal and card.

What happens if I need to cancel my booking?
All cancellations will be subject to an admin fee of £20, up to one week prior to the event. Cancellations made less than 48 hours before the day will incur a loss of the full payment, as with a max of 15 pupils per day, full numbers are critical – with the exception of cancellations due to covid.

Is it safe?
We run under ACU guidelines to make the track as safe as possible. You may still take a fall (all part of the learning process) and although injuries can occur, they are less severe than those incurred when riding on tarmac at high speed and usually relate to dented egos.
Following the Covid-19 outbreak we have taken extra precautions regarding customer’s health, please check out our provisions here.
